Nominate yourself for the Digital Inclusion Award at the ISPAs

February 2, 2011

Don’t miss the chance to nominate yourself for the Digital Inclusion Award at the 2011 ISPAs

Now in their thirteenth year, the ISPAs (Internet Services Providers’ Association Awards) are a great platform for showcasing the best business and consumer internet services in the industry.

The 2010 ISPAs

We really want you to nominate for the Special Award for Digital Inclusion, in association with Race Online 2012 and sponsored by Plusnet.  Open to individuals, organisations, community groups and companies from the public, private and charitable sectors, it’s a great means of recognising those that have gone that extra mile to engage with non-liners.  The award particularly focuses on nominees that have actively targeted and helped the 4 million individuals in the UK who are digitally and socially excluded and will specifically look at:

  • Impact on digital inclusion
  • Setting an example for others to learn and develop from
  • Awareness raising
  • Skills & learning
  • Innovation and creativity – such as use of resources and funding

Last year’s winner was Bolton Literacy Trust, a fantastic example of a local organisation using computers and the net to generate sustainable impact.  BLT works across Bolton to improve the life opportunities of those in greatest need, increasing prospects for participation in literacy, numeracy, parenting and ICT activities.  The scheme, part of the UK online centre network, is a great example of how local organisations can use computers not only to teach others about modern technologies but also to help them unlock a host of other skills or opportunities.
